Noticing that leveling my build plate and cleaning/prepping the surface is making a big difference in the outcome of my 3D Prints lately - just minor maintenance can save a lot of time in the long run. Still printing ABS and PLA with rafts on Kapton tape - thinking glass may be a solution to the raft… anyone had any luck with this?

On my heated bed w/ Kapton tape I don’t use a raft, it leaves a fairly yucky finish on the back side of the part. I really only needed rafts when I was trying to get things to stick and between levelling correctly and the heat rafts became a non-issue.

I’m heating my bed to 100c w/Kapton tape - generally don’t get adhesion from my ABS or PLA w/o a raft… possibly the filament?

possibly the filament?

Or you’re not starting close enough to the bed. I run ABS with a 110C build plate and PLA with a 90C build plate. But if my level is off nothing sticks regardless. When the level is correct it sticks at pretty much any temperature but if the temp isn’t warm enough at some point the piece breaks free before its done being printed.
