Here you can download the fixed file and the workspace
@Yuusuf_Sallahuddin_Y this was the strangest file i have ever seen, but it was good since we can learn from it and maybe add some warning to users
@Ariel_Yahni_UniKpty , glad I could help in making the strangest file you’ve ever seen lol. Just to note my process for creating that was: Create a DXF in Autodesk Inventor. Open Inkscape and open the DXF file. Then used the import to bring in the angry baseball image. I scaled the image to suite and then created a copy of the image and mirrored it. I then used the text command to create the text. Once done I saved it and started to experiment in LW4. I tried many things to get it to where you saw it but I can tell you that I pretty much lost track. I’m going to analyze the file you sent me and note the changes for future use. With any luck I’ll be able to create a tutorial on what to do’s in Inkscape. I’ll post back when I get there… Hopefully this will also answer my questions on laser intensity that I’ve been struggling with in my other posts.
@Ariel_Yahni_UniKpty , your svg came in just fine. I was able to set the layers accordingly. However I took the svg file and exported it again out of curiosity and I think I’m missing something at that step. The bmp’s move and are out of scale. I created another document with one cut and one bmp file for testing. I can export to svg just fine. When I open it in lw4 I get the same results. The image is not to scale with the cut portion of the job. Where am I going wrong?
@Chuck_Comito maybe is the way Inkscape is saving the file. Send me the part and ill try to replicate in inkscape
Hi @Ariel_Yahni_UniKpty , here’s the link to the files. I put a screenshot of what it should look like and the files that make up the composition. I should mention though that I’ve tried this in Corel as well. That’s why I think I’m missing some sort of preparation when saving to svg. Like how the svg is handling the image that’s embedded. I hope it is a setting. If that’s all I should be rockin and rolling shortly.
@Chuck_Comito look at your file tree and you will see the difference. For some reason in your process its creating weird names on the files and multiples ones.
Also you need to prevent Clipping Mask and should always join path that are a single line
@Ariel_Yahni_UniKpty , I don’t know how you get anything done helping everyone all the time. I sure do appreciate it!
I opened your svg and it works great so a couple of questions. I noticed that the image looked different than the original so what did you do to it? Second, I opened the svg in corel (shits and giggles) and notice that the image was grouped but not with anything else. In other words, doesn’t it take more than one object to group them? Then I opened them in Inkscape and there aren’t any layers however I notice you have the object ID to Raster_1_ and label to #Raster_1_ while the cut object is ID Cut and Label#Cut. Can you explain what you did there or if it matters? I still think my issue is not understanding how to properly “embed” the image. thanks again!
@Chuck_Comito i cannot share all my secrets…
I did not change the image, i did ungroup and removed clipping mask. Yes it was grouped with some sort of invisible item. Then i went and cleaned the layers, joined path ( outside cut line ), etc.
I must say that i use Illustrator, the reason is Inscape for mac is a pain to use. I do have it on my work laptop and could have a look at trying to fix this issues with that during my business trip this week.
If you can try and get a demo of Illustrator and see if it make better sense to you that having to use all other solution to get an svg
