Nice review from http://the-gadgeteer.com, a site that posts tech reviews since (feeled) the dawn of the internet.

It has some similarities to my old video

what is based on Thomas’ Funkboxing, btw. in my books a significant contributor for FastLED.

Enjoy!
Btw, any clues how to code the whitish-brightness circle effect?

@Juergen_Bruegl - Thank you for reminding me of your lamp video that looks great. I agree with your following praise: “Thomas’ Funkboxing, btw. in my books a significant contributor for FastLED.”. My code in the following post is based on the police_lightsONE and the police_lightsAll functions in Thomas’ Funkboxing:

“Btw, any clues how to code the whitish-brightness circle effect?”
@Juergen_Bruegl Which effect are you asking about (I’m guessing from this video)?

@marmil yes it is from this video starting at 0:43 and is called ‘chase mode’. It is not clear whether they use for the moving element the color white or just a higher brightness of the base color.

Hmmm, my initial guess would be using the same base color, and that it only looks so white due to the brightness blowing out the video camera sensor.
