A snowbird friend of mine brought me some large pecan logs from Fla. [I grew up in Fla and I did not know pecan grew there].
I decided to build a circle cutter jig to put on my band-saw, making the process of rounding blanks more safe than free handing it.
The circle cutting table mounts on the existing band-saw table, slides forward and back and has an adjustable throat [up to 28"].
Here are some pictures of the jig and the process of preparing bowls for their first turning. These blanks are about 20" in diameter.
