Neopixel ring testing, so far, so good

124 pixels total, draw a little over 5A at 5V at full brightness, setting the main strip brightness factor to 1/4 keeps power within USB supply limits at an Amp max and much less in normal use.

With some careful soldering this is less than 10mm thick. Next job is to make a housing and do some real coding.

I’m glad to see you are showing us your true colors!

Just making sure it doesn’t turn into a ring of fire…

Makes me want to pull out a kaleidoscope and zone out for a while.
Also had me thinking how cool it’d look with the rings attached to a half a rubber ball or balloon and a servo moving the smallest/center ring around like a Chameleon eye.

This is one of those background projects where I occasionally get enthusiastic and advance it a bit further; then sit back and think. Current thoughts involve a Wemos D1 mini (esp8266) so I can have a Internet-synchronised clock as it’s main feature.

But first it may well end up in a window over the festivities and the new year.

The lightshow is quite mesmerizing , I was running it at full power late last night in a dark sitting room, good effect!
