NeJe Laser not homing

I have a Neje Master 2 Max that I’ve had for years. I bought an E-80. It’s a bit larger module and installed it, and now my machine won’t home. Please help

I don’t know your particular machine, but most have homing switches and a larger head usually requires you to move one or both to accommodate the larger module.

Did it come with any kind of installation instructions?

If you’ve had it for years and it only just now stopped homing, that implies either a control board problem or a wiring problem. The simplest thing to check is to make sure the wires to the homing switches haven’t come loose or that the homing switch itself is not having problems.

Saying it “won’t home” is a bit unclear.

When you try to do the homing operation, what happens? Does it move at all?

Have you tried homing each axis separately? If yes, what happens?

He put a larger laser module for the head, so he’ll likely have to do something to the switches for a home operation.

If you did nothing with the X and Y axis end-stop switches and just messed with the wiring on the laser head AND you move the laser head/carriage to the middle of the build area and then power up and it does not move X and Y axis to their end-stops then you likely wired your laser head wrong and could have killed your power supply.

Disconnect the 12V power wires from the laser head, reposition manually the laser head to the middle of the build area and power on the device. If it still doesn’t try to move to 0,0( home ) then look at your power supply. learn howto use a DMM if you don’t know how because it’s a great skill to have.

If you did mess with end-stop wiring then I would expect at least one axis to work and now the trick is to get a terminal console connected/open with your laser and google how to rest the end-stops with the firmware you are running. GRBL?

Sorry for the delayed response. I’ve since purchased an "ALL-new NEJE Max Laser Diode Controller System - Laser Control Board for DIY Laser Machine" That solved the, laser not firing problem, by the aux power cable from the controller to the laser module. Now it crashes to forward left origin and gives error that my position is -300x -160y. Is there some calibration or set up I should have down to the new control board? Please Help

it is probably running GRBL firmware and if it is then you need to set the Xmax size and Ymax size which are possibly 130 and 131.

You’ll also want to check your steps-per-mm to see if when you tell it to move 10mm it moves 10mm. If those are incrorrect, the GRBL settings are 100 and 101
