Need some TinyG help folks.
Had the Y driver on my TinyG v8 overheat today, after it cooled down the axis only moves in 1 direction.
Restarted everything, same thing.
So now I am trying to move my Y motor to the 4th driver. I sent $4ma=1 but now when I jog the Y, the motor just energizes (respective green LEDs turn on and I can hear the hum) but no movement. Please advise.
Ah so, you are good with a soldering iron.
Those heat slug packages are a bugger.
And, you have a spare driver but not a spare motor?
Switching drivers should have worked, but you do have to match all the $4 parameters to the $[whatever failed] motor settings (often $4pm=0 by default). The axis parameters need not be modified.
Enjoy
I would expect a (very fine gauge) motor lead wire to fail before a winding would fail as a general statement
Ok, so my Y axis is moving now, but by the wrong amount. The config looks right. Maybe I missed one of the microstep pins in the soldering process. I’m going to try m4 again.
