Need help buying new printer

This kind of questions are not liked on the forum but I really need help tl finalize my purchase, as I’m old member of this community I hope I will get help here.

I previously had Creality CR6 SE Printer that worked quite ok, I normally do not do very complex models mosltly boxy kind of shapes with lots of holes for mount or fitting in components OR sometime simple mechanicals.

Biggest reason to change is that I want better printing speed, I do not give too much time to learn deeper about 3d printing because I’m mostly busy in other stuff.

I short listed Creality KC1 and Bambu Lab P1S these are quite close to my requirements.
I want to stick with Chinese brands for lower running cost, like for my CR6 I had a lot of extra parts with me whenever it bugs me rather than wasting time on trubleshooting I just change the part.

Bambu tightens the noose

In the past I’ve told folks who “just want to print” that it’s rational to consider Bambu, even though I never would based on their poor interactions with open source, including their assertions that they only need to follow the license terms of the software they used as a basis for their slicer if they feel like it. I think I’ll stop that now. Here is the latest nonsense from Bambu, trying to wrap user-hostile behavior in nonsense about security. Should this be called “security washing” perhap…

And I won’t recommend Qidi any more after their 4 Plus debacle.

I’ve heard good things about the Sovol SV-08 and it would be on the list of printers I would personally consider for a new purchase:

I know that more than a few of us have struggled with buying large-ish fast FMD printers with Prusa dropping the ball, Bambu Lab being pretty closed, and other printers as wildcards. So, I was excited to see this Maker’s Muse review of the Sovol SV08. It runs plain old Klipper, the specs are fully shared in a public repo, and it’s based on a Voron design that I kind of wanted to build anyway. Oh, and the base model is $600. [Based on a VORON, made by SOVOL... but is the SV08 any GOOD?] …

I own a Bambu Lab X1C, P1S, A1, and A1 Mini. They are all fabulous. They just work and I rarely have any issues with them. Having said that, my son just received his Elegoo Centauri Carbon which I believe he paid $300 for it. The prints are on par with all of our Bambu machines. His printer is still new but so far no problems. It seems to be an excellent unit for the price. There are plenty of youtube videos to check out for reviews. I was quite impressed with it.
