Naughty, naughty Bowden tube...

Naughty, naughty Bowden tube… I was attempting some pretty hard reversals and up she popped from the extruder side… So, more upgrades printed to combat high speed reversals… Working but for how long… The tube unfortunately now has hash marks on it (externally) from the aggressive rip-out. Does this usually mean new tube time??

You should be able to just take a sharp exacto and trim off a little bit of the tube… makes it shorter so don’t want to be in the habit of trimming your bowden tube too often.

Out of curiosity what were the " agressive" retraction speeds ? Did not run into bowden poping just yet so would be good to know the limits

I didn’t manage to get it to pop out either. The new part should help with the tube not flexing when doing retraction.

Do what @Brian_Evans said. Trim it. Don’t use scissors or wire cutters - you need a square end on the tube. Use a knife!

It still had a square end, the tube “damage” was all external around the entire tube. To better explain since I didn’t snap a pic; it was like a lite random sandpapering/grooving of the outer plastic…
