Not just contractually. Naomi did not want some personal details in the article, because it would could lead to physical harm. Vice agreed in writing, but reneged and doxxed her anyway.
After weeks of trying to get any response from them, Naomi stupidly doxxed someone at Vice, whose well-paid lawyers cut off her Patreon income. Her absence was because there are very few other ways of getting foreign income into China without disclosing her real name and address.
