My new drying rig testing it today

What does it consist of?

the “bin” from homedepo for 7$
i put in damp rid from homedepo to (about 6$) and im using my wife heater ( 100 Watt) from amazon (about 40$)

i put the filament for 3H going to test in the weekend if its good or need more time

I use a Gorenje fruit dehumidifier. It was about 40 euros, and it’s like as if it had been designed for filament drying. Round shape, mutiple levels, cutting the center out of a few 2 rolls of filament can be processed at the same time. Maintains temperature between 30 and 70 celsius, operation time is up to 20 hours in 30 minute increments. Temperature control is surprisingly accurate: never goes more than 5 degrees over set value.

(this was the best link I found, sorry for that)

@Miklos_Hejjas who long to you put the filament in it ? 2~3H ? more ?
its look as it rate at 240 W its alot

I’ve read on forums before, and most of the experienced guys suggested at least 12 hours. So I just set to 19:30 and let it go (anyway, you can’t overdry a filament, can you?). I used on 35C for PLA and 55C for the ColorFabb Carbon.
I think 240w is not that much. I assume it’s total consumption at maximum power - at 35C it is likely not more than 100W. It makes quite an airflow, so it has to heat continuously. And a hairdryer is about 2000W.

I use a container and a sock with silica cat sand. I then store my filament in there when not using it.
