My k40 is not producing the crisp results it used to (see picture). What could be the reason for this…? Are there some settings I need to tweak here?
Thanks in advance for any input!

I don’t know the K40 but that looks very much like backlash as it alternates every line.

Backlash, ok. Anything to do about that…?

Move the corresponding axis by hand to see if there is any backlash and where it comes from. A loose belt would be a good candidate.

A slightly loose grub screw in a driver pulley would be another option…

@CescoAiel This happened to me several times on my 3d printer. The vibrations loosen the grub screws over time.

Sounds promising! Sorry for my lack of vocabulary, what is a grub screw?

@Andreas_Benestad it’s just a set screw without a head - usually just the threaded part, but with a little hex recess to put a hex driver in. Just look for the pulley that drives the belt (it’s on the motor) and look for screws of some sort to tighten.
