My extruder isnt grabbing onto the filament hard enough so it just slips. I believe its called a direct drive… It has a little wheel that clamps the filament against the wheel on a stepper motor. Any suggestions?
Ok cool. I have a print going right now and if it starts to fail I’ll look into that
I had this problem for a long time before I added a fan pointing at the cold half of my hotend. The filament was heating and melting in more of the area than it should have and it was pressing against the walls. I do still have some problems, but not as much.
Is there a tube that your extruder pushes filament into or is the motor near the hot end? Do you have a fan?
What temperature and material?
What printer?
What extruder (hot end and cold end)?
The tension is one thing that can go wrong. Having it too tight or loose is a problem. There are many other things that can go wrong.
The motor is only a couple inches away from the nozzel. It has a fan. The extruder/motor are whatever comes on the davinci 1.0. Pla at 220. It hasnt been melting too early though
