My 4th axis continued. …
Today I had an hour available to test a real cut into some cheap pine. I created a rounding job for a square piece of stock and another book to mill something like a thread. I remind you, that this is just a test.
My experience is that zeroing in the axes needs some work. I need to find a good zeroing procedure and possibly some specialised probing.
My 4 axis module also need some better t slot screws. That’s a minor issue.
My z axis has to little space to move in when using the 4 th axis. To solve that I need another table setup. This is a major issue.
But apart from these few quirks I’m happy.
I can now mill 360 degrees which i couldn’t before.
