my 11 year old daughter designed a dental device to help clean around her braces and expander…anyone in the lehigh valley have a suggestion for a medical grade 3-d printer we can contact to help her print it?

The thing is, “medical grade” 3D printers, require a lot of different certifications, etc; you won’t find one in the open source community that’s officially medical grade. I’m not even sure we have access to filament that contains any kind of certification for food grade.

Maybe @Tom_Martz at Taulman could point you some where as some of their nylon is certified …

@Lori_Smith_Bowser @ThantiK Is correct, there are few medical grade units available through the community or in production. There are several clinics that have developed their own units. nylon 680 is currently in certification in the EU for dental use. While 680 is already FDA approved, Dental Certification (CE) is still in process and will take at least another 8-12 months. We have reports as to material meeting initial requirements, however printing processes are are to be included as well as chemical configuration.
