Hi everyone,
I’m currently running my laser engraver with a Meerk40t controller and an older M2Nano board. I’m considering upgrading to the newer M3+ board to take advantage of its improved features and performance.
My main concern is motor compatibility. I’ve attached photos of my current motors. As far as I know, the M3 and M3+ boards use different stepper motor controller chips (A4988 on M3, TMC2208 on M3+).
Will my existing motors work directly with the M3+ board, considering the change in controller chips? I’m comfortable with soldering and wiring modifications if needed.
Any advice or experience you can share regarding this upgrade, especially concerning motor compatibility with the different controller chips, would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
