Lost the grommet from my touring alpine boots on a trip when the rivet failed.

Swapped out the PLA for something more pliable (ABS) and printed a new one from solidworks, riveted it back together and it’s good for another 2 seasons.

Just tested this fix in the White mtns of NH USA and it held up perfectly.

3000’ vertical mixed with 6+ miles of skinning / hiking / climbing with no issue…

Gotta fix the other boot now, ironically the other grommet failed on the other boot.

Glad I saved the build file, all I have to do is print another tomorrow.
