Some versions of slic3r are really bad at filling sloped top surfaces like that. Were you using 0.9.7?

Current versions seem to not be producing extra perimeters when needed for me either. It’ll actually generate an extra perimeter on a 100% perfect copy mirrored object, but not generate it on the other object. It’s been strange. But I don’t want to generate 3+ layers for every layer.
It’s been inconsistent for me as well. Does @Alessandro_Ranellucc know about it?
