so not really “fixing” anything, or “replacing” anything either, more just bypassing things by using broken out pins / test points. Here’s me thinking it’s going to be about de-soldering the old broken chips.

@Steve_M it’s still replacing - even if it IS also bypassing. While desoldering the old chips is something that sounds great on the surface, the lowest common denominator would be just hijacking and breaking out existing points as soldering as a skill is probably more common than hot-air reworking.
