Laserweb dev offtopic, dealing with life

EDIT: I popped this, and the following into a new offtopic thread. Trying to keep the original ‘clean’ with just the technical stuff.
… plus gives us a place to deal and heal.

also… I wanted to practice splitting a thread in two usng my super mod powers.

Guys, This is not forgotten but I have had a rough few weeks losing a Friend, and I am not in a technical frame of mind at all. But I have not forgotten this and will be with you when I no longer need to spend all my free time caring.

Sorry for your loss.

Thankyou, I took Chuck into my family from the pet rescue 8 years ago, he’s a cat, the sweetest and most loving of fellows… Along with Bob (his feline frenemy) we have been very close and this is super difficult, especially this weekend, palliative care.

A maker connection; I hooked a old printer heatbed to a current limiting supply, instant warming pad, 12v @ 1,8a keeps the box where he is hiding warm.

I understand completely. I too have lost two cats in the last couple years. We are a three cat house now. It is never easy losing a part of the family.

I am sorry to hear you lost your furry friend. Good luck with the other one. I have been a bit off lately too due to the current outlook for politics in the USA while also dealing with a crazy prick of a neighbor. I may soon get a gun to defend my home and country even though I am a pacifist. It is better to be prepared than be screwed.

Well, things are resolved. And I now have something that I want to make using my CNC. A small casket needs making(*), I can get some lovely teak from the woodpile at the sailclub, this will probably be machine roughed, then hand finished.

I also need to rebuild the CNC, spindle is very pooly ‘bodged on’ to the chassis atm. I’ll do my own design, but I would like to carve it using an official LaserWeb release.

Before that I want to get this out of the door, there is a couple of days coding still to do. But documentation will be minimal. The PrintPY is the end result of several separate projects that come together in one device.

(*) It will be carved with a sleeping cat; not some guns, symbols and a pervert.
