Kossel owners and experts, how would i add a heated bed to a kossel? wouldnt it overheat the board and motors and possibly melt the wires as they’re right below it? thanks!
I got the “170mm Heat Bed Kit” kit from ultibots. Glued the heating element to the aluminium plate and placed the glass on top. Added a thick (ca 1mm) paper underneath it all as a heat shield. Works well, motors stay nice and cool even though the distance is less than a centimeter.
Have only used for PLA with the bed at 60C, dont know how well it works if you print ABS which requires higher temps.
I have designed a solution for my kossel. I will post details soon when I have fully tested it. It seems OK so far printing ABS with the heat bed at 105C
