Hello!,
I stopped using my k40 few months ago and now the laser is not coming out the tube. Could it be the tube faulty or power supply?. Watch the video with a few test.
Any ideas?.
Thank you!!!

By the looks of the beam, the LPS seems to be working.
How do you know there is no beam out of the tube vs an alignment problem?
Post a picture of a low-power burn on paper taken at the laser’s output.
From that, we can tell if the tube is running in the right mode.
Hi, thank you for your reply. The paper has no mark at all after the test I’ve changed the water (destilled) and tried again just in case but still no laser coming out of the tube.
Update :
Now it’s making noises when press the test button. But only after 10%. Bellow that is like is off. After 40% it disconnects.
How do I test if the power supply is faulty?.

I hear what sounds like arcing too. Have you turned off all the lights and looked at the back of the LPS and at the tube wiring for arcing?
I can’t find any arcing, it’s weird it sometimes fire and the laser goes through but now is not. The sound comes from the tube not the LPS.
Any ideas how can I find the arcing ?
As I mentioned, making the whole room and laser dark and looking for arc flashing all along with wire paths from the LPS through the tube and back to the LPS.
You could try using audio cues by moving a video camera/mic along the path and then seeing if you notice any volume increases and decreases along the path and then look more closely(not physically close) at the areas with higher volume.
I just found few flashes coming from the power supply, nothing from the wiring, checked positive and negative and just that.
Just fyi:
The water is destilled and it’s fresh. the water temp is 12º.
The tube is not firing bellow a 10% power.

It sounds like the transformer in the LPS is shorting out. That is a common failure mode.
Time to get a new one, how old is it?.
