Just did a “successful” 2 color print with my new @Printrbot Plus. The standard checker boardesque cube. Worked great! Now my question is, does anyone know how or if you can create a wipe wall or something that pre- primes the extruder before printing its color on each layer? Also, any clues on how to stop oozing? Got a ton of that on each extruder when not printing. Maybe my temp is too high? The retraction is pretty aggressive.
Create a skirt, 1mm or so away from your part, however high your part is. This can be done in your slicer usually. Depending on the slicer, this should be easy to remove, and will keep all the gooma-gama (technical term) from accumulating on the outside of your print.
Will a skirt prime both extruders?
No, it’ll just catch the ooze. I think it may work to prime whatever extruder is active though. KISSlicer has a prime pillar option as well.
