I’ve been using RepRap 3D Printers for a couple of years now and I’ve been considering building a CNC, but the open source tool chain seems hard to follow. I can handle the CAD, but open source CAM software seems to be hard to find. I searched and found http://openscam.com/, but I’m wondering if anybody has used it, or if there are other/better/more popular solutions? #3dprinting #opensourcesoftware

Openscam currently only does simulation as far as I am aware.
I cannot open the Meshcam.com site, and I was hoping to use an open source software package, not an online only thing like easel.
Have a look at heekscnc: https://sites.google.com/site/heekscad/news/heekscnc10 or BlenderCAM: http://blendercam.blogspot.co.uk/?m=1
It seems I’m going to have to take (another) look at BlenderCAM. Has anyone here used it? Thoughts?
You can run 500 lines on CamBam without a seat. This will do small jobs. I really need to check out heeks.
