I’ve been trying to print Bridge on a RichRap 3DR with a bowden extruder and my filament keeps kinking between the hobbed bolt and the teflon tube. I’m guessing its getting jammed up?
To combat this I’ve lowered my print speeds to 30mm/s which is pretty darn slow but I’m still having issues.
Try turning up the hot end temperature. I don’t know what your bowden extruder looks like exactly, but if you have too much back pressure and a relatively flexible filament that’s what you get. Sometimes, if the filament is especially flexible or slippery, it’ll entirely hop out of the channel and your printer will make lovely little curls out the back.
…but yeah, either recalculate your extrusion rate, or turn up the hot end a bit. I’m guessing it’s temperature related, though.
another thing is run your tube all the way down to just above your hobbed bolt. I have been doing this with all the air tripper extruders and Wades That I am using as bowden for almost a year with excellent results.
I wasn’t able to get my tube through the press fit connector I’m using so I drilled out the feeder hole in my extruder and put a little piece of tube in there pushed right up against the hobbed bolt.
Was able to print a whole thing last night! Thanks for the advice folks!
