Is there a trick to getting JSON up and running on raspberry pi? Does JSON need to bee extracted somewhere special in the directory? Does it need to be executed from the command line?

I’ve searched this community and Tiny G wiki.

You download the binary from the releases page https://github.com/chilipeppr/serial-port-json-server/releases

Then you extract the tar.gz file with tar -xzvf and it will make a directory.

Then just run serial-port-json-server binary.

I was trying to run the AMD64 JSON, Raspberry Pi has the ARM processor architecture. serial-port-json-server-1.94_linux_arm.tar.gz works just fine from command line when in the right directory of your choice. ‘‘sudo ./serial-port-json-server -v’’ -v shows all the commands being processed in the terminal window if you are interested in seeing them; for the Noobs like me.
