Is there a 3d-model (step/iges etc) available of the E3D Titan Aqua already?

Is there a 3d-model (step/iges etc) available of the E3D Titan Aqua already?

Well, E3D is releasing schematics, with 95% of the needed measurements. And keeps random 5% a secret. Not sure what to think about this. IMHO, they should release a simplified but COMPLETE drawing , not this “we leave some random measurements out to make the copycats a fool”.
CAD took me an hour and is accurate where it matters. The rest was guessed.

I don’t think E3D is intentonally leaving out any measurements. I think we’ve been through this before. Did you ask them about this before making the accusation? @Sanjay_Mortimer1 for comment?

@Tim_Elmore Look what I marked red. And that is just page 1 of several drawings. While I don’t need that internal water-channel for mounting, I could really need the complete outer dimensions/radia. Don’t get me wrong - I highly appreciate that there ARE drawings available! This is very nice!

I have no doubt not all measurements are there, but there is a difference between a simple mistake of not dimensioning everything, versus “intentionally leaving out” - the latter implies malfeasance.

Did you ask them for a copy of the drawing with the dimensions you wanted?

I DO NOT assume that they INTENTIONALLY left out some measurements ^^ Why should they? They do publish nearly all of their stuff - great and very nice of them! But when publishing info as a drawing, it better be accurate, or? Especially, if you are one of the market-leaders.

You said “And keeps random 5% a secret”. That is saying they did it intentionally. Maybe some language barrier here, but any English speaker reading your post would take it as an accusation of wrongdoing on E3D’s behalf.

For the third time, have you tried simply emailing them to ask them to add those dimensions?

@Tim_Elmore Different worlds colliding. I need maximum information - E3D wants to keep information as simple and/or straight forward as they can. I do not want to bother E3D about this bc this is obsolet in a couple days, when I got hands on the parts myself. In the meantime, I hope to save time by asking for additional information from other sources. And, probably, language barrier does its thing, too.

@Rene_Jurack We try and make the main drawing the most useful drawing to the customer for mounting and use etc. Sorry we fell short of the mark here for your needs.

I’ve put a note in the with guy who made that drawing (Rory) and I’m sure he’ll appreciate your feedback.

Stuff isn’t left out to obfuscate, we just try and make the drawings the most useful engineering data possible. dimming every rad would be a more proper manufacturing drawing, but makes for a messy print that is hard to follow for most applications.

If you just ask we’re always happy to help/share.

Tagging in @Rory_Yonge to help out

@Sanjay_Mortimer1 Yeah, I didn‘t mean to accuse something bad, maybe the first post was way too naggy - I am on a tight schedule and then there are key-informations (for me) missing in the drawing, so I got irritated :weary: Sorry :beers: As I meantioned in the following posts, I am happy that you provide drawings at all!
