Welcome!

Have your selected/purchased a 3D printer yet? Or will you be using one at a library or Makerspace?

What sort of parts do you wish to print?

Will you be using downloaded designs or making your own?

If making your own designs, how do you wish to approach that?Preformatted text

Thanks,

I bought a Qidi plus 4 because I want to print functional things. Right now I cant even get the machine to work as somehow I changed something somewhere and dont know how to get passed that. I tried to print the voron cube in the machines files but all I had was abs. So I read about the higher temps needed and just tried to change the heat settings. It didnt stick to the plate so I ended the print. When the pla came in the mail I installed it and now the machine gives me a message of, ā€œfilament does not match with the fileā€. I have no idea how or what I changed but I havent been able to even get my first print out it.

I reinstalled the abs and still got the same message. All of my filament is from Qidi.

That sounds like something to check with Qidi tech support about.

As they say with most tech stuff. READ THE DOC’s..

And congratulations, the Qidi 4 is a good machine, from the reviews I’ve seen. Welcome the Maker Forums and Welcome to the rabbit hole..

After you have printed a thing or two, You might find: Thingaverse.com a place to visit for some printable files.. Also TeachingTech is a Youtube channel you might find some useful information from…

If you are going to make ā€œusefulā€ parts for your own projects you should find yourself a good CAD/CAM program/format that you can learn.. FreeCAD is. ā€˜ā€˜ā€˜ā€˜FREEā€ā€, and many people here like it… If you are a bit more in the graphic design mindset Blender is. ā€œFREEā€ as well.

Will do!!!
