I’m trying to give LW4 a go, and I can import my document (BMP or SVG), but I’m not getting any settings for speed, power, etc. What am I overlooking?
@K1111 did you drag the document?
This took me a little bit to work out as i was using a trackpad and it wasn’t working correctly.
You need to ‘add document’ then drag it into the section that says ‘drag documents here’. There is no visual cue that you are dragging anything (at least on my system), but it will appear and give you the options you are after.
To me this seems an extra unnecessary step in the process. I would much prefer a document I loaded to be automatically considered one I wanted to generate gcode for.
An option with each document to enable/disable it in the gcode list seems more intuitive and simplifies the process and UI a little.
I may be missing the whole point of having a ‘documents’ list?
When I drag the document it opens the document in the window, but doesn’t actually show up in LW.
@Domenic_Di_Giorgio Multiple files for multiple operations. Also each file could have mulliple path for different operations
@K1111 seems you are dragging to hard. Yes at the moment there is no visual clue but is comming
@Domenic_Di_Giorgio , stupid question, but by drag, do you mean the highlighted name under documents?
@K1111 No. Drag as in click the name , move the cursor to the designated area and release
@Ariel_Yahni_UniKpty Ok, I see. Still seems overly complicated when I can just load the file i needed when i needed to use it again. Or duplicate it and change it’s gcode parameters.
@Ariel_Yahni_UniKpty This may be an issue with my Mac. When I click and drag the name it ends up highlighting stuff and not really dragging the name.
@K1111 Yes, this was my problem. I needed to use a mouse for it to work.
@Domenic_Di_Giorgio I understand but thats the beauty. Have a file with lots of path and then choose and do whatever you want in any order you choose. Also this is important for CNC
@Domenic_Di_Giorgio Well dang. Ok. I’ll have to hunt one down. Are you using a Mac? I have a PC I guess I should try this on as well, but still no mouse!
@K1111 im on a mac too. When you hover it will show a plus sing, the just click and move with releasing. It will highlight the current selection as multiple selection are possible. Note that on my mac there are several other issues
@K1111 I have only tested it on our Mac machines so far. Mouse solves it. But I will have to do some more testing and raise an issue if needed.
@Ariel_Yahni_UniKpty , here’s what happens when I try that with my trackpad (note the sort of shadowed lettering under the GCODE section.)
