I’m thinking of backing the Stalactite 3D printer online as I’m after something SLA/DLP based with pretty good accuracy and precision. I’m just wondering if I’m missing something bad about the project which the community has spotted though as it doesn’t seem to be getting a lot of interest… any ideas / opinions?

Looks like a nice enough machine…, but the price of the resin compared to filament, is too high for me. But, if you are willing to look past that, this thing could be an option.
There are other, cheaper, resin printers out there though.
I was wondering about the resin. I asked the team whether the resin would be coded to the machine so you’d have to buy from them instead of being able to use 3rd party resin - no word on that yet, however the team have been helpful on other questions. They’ve even offered to do a test print to see if one of my parts works on the unit 
I have one of these http://kck.st/1lubCYc on order. They’ve done some impressive things with laser focus. Unfortunately I can’t give a personal reference because it hasn’t arrived, but you can see from the updates that the print quality is pretty astounding.
Very fitting name for the printer.
