I’m so desperate and scared right now I just used duct tape to secure some of the edges down that are starting to creep up, to my hotbed burning up at 73deg… It’s a large base print taking up about 17x17cm of the bed and is loong too, ~7hrs!

I’ve started using an external fan just blowing over the print on larger prints but after about 1cm has printed already as to try and not have the bed affected by the wind of the fan… And this I she first time I’ve seen the brim start to come up… My guess is the temp dropped for a little on the bed.

Anyone else used duct tape to secure parts to their heated bed?

Am I going to burn my house down?

Was this the dumbest idea possible?

Things usually don’t catch on fire below maybe 300°C. Especially not duck tape.
Though its adhesive is probably pretty gooey at this temperature and will leave an ugly residue.

Put a dab of superglue at the corners. Its not fun to clean up but I have rescued a few prints this way.

Everything went smoothly… A little bit worried about how time consuming it may be to clean the bed later, buy I’ve always got a bottle of isopropyl near the printer anyway for cleaning the bed. I’ll get a link to the hilarious pic of it here later.

heat it up and use a razor blade to scrape it. you wont damage the glass.

Cleanup was a breeze. Let everything cool, scraped leftover glue with razor, cleaned glass with alcohol and paper towel, FIN
