I’m back!! I’m trying to do this using the fill/stroke. My only option in fill is 2 blacks. I get some color in stroke. I also get no option for raster for the words. I’m thinking its the file and the way it was made. Anyone have any suggestions. I’ve read/watched the videos on cncpro but its just not making sense to me. Just to be clear, cut the red, engrave the blue and black.
I think I need to break apart the letters from the rest? Sorry for being noob but we all start somewhere!
letters should be in jpg or image format for raster but you should be able to attain a similar result with laser fill option. you can always save your svg with the jpg or bmp within it and it should stay located properly.
Ahhh ok I’m going to try that. http://The.ai file seems to have it that way. I’m going to try tomorrow after work again. But I think it was mostly the exporting(I hope lol)
I find every program has its good points and bad points, some do things better than others. I love gimp for isolating things in pics and doing level adjustments on areas of a pic and cutting out background etc. But most other stuff I use Adobe and Corel. Inkscape drives me batty.
@Chris_Menchions There are some fiddly things with AI when exporting the SVG. I think you seem to have already found the article in the doco that explains the SVG output issue from AI (if I recall correct, style attributes needed to be selected as the css type).
Yeah I found the how to for exporting. I’m going to give it a try tonight. Hopefully it’s just that. I split the file apart and saved separately but I need to know this for future projects
@Chris_Menchions I’m pretty sure it will be just that, as I had the exact same issue with AI SVG exports (hence I wrote up the section for the export settings thinking it will come up again).
OK that seems to work!! So what would I select for the tree engraving the blue? I still have no option to raster the letters though. Read would be cut which I have figured out.
I also get “The file has minor issues. Please check document is correctly loaded!”
Ok so for black letters I want engraved I should filter fill? This has me totally confused. I have red to be cut, blue to be engraved and black letters to be engraved. What should I be doing here. Please and thanks
