I’m a beginner in building a 3d printer. I have a wish list on Amazon with stepper motors and a board and I’m wondering if someone could verify that they would work together. The list is here: https://www.amazon.com/registry/wishlist/CTZEBL2XM8WS/ref=cm_sw_r_an_wl_o_iv-4ub0YCXHPC.
You’ll need pin headers for the four wires coming from each motor, but that’s it (well and the parts that go in the connectors). I can’t comment on the rest of the build, just the board and motors.
@Justin_Nesselrotte Thank you for checking. Yeah the board and motors were the only pieces I wasn’t completely sure about. I appreciate your help.
That’s good. But I think you’ll need one more stepper driver for 5 motors.
@James_Malenko not if the Z axis has two motors
Oh ya. My bad
Then you’ll need a way to connect the two motors
@James_Malenko the ramps board usually has two pin headers for the x axis.
Also not sure if you’re looking for, but you’re missing things like a printhead, heated buildplate etc also didnt see the smooth rods for the bearings. Will need pulleys and belts. You also need end stops and a power supply. What printer are you going to build.
Michael has a good point. The electronics are there but not a lot of mechanical pieces. I did a bill of materials for my smartrap where I bought all the parts on eBay. If you want I can send you it.
Yeah the list is incomplete. It only has a few things that I decided to buy on Amazon. The rest I will be buying from eBay and other websites like adafruit wherever I can find decent parts for less.
