I work at a bakery and am trying to find information about 3D Printers that can make cakes, cupcakes, brownies, etc. Does anyone know how to do that or of printers that are capable of it?

Take a look at this link http://www.engadget.com/2014/01/07/chefjet/
BTW, I’m sure there are others. Good luck. Create a masterpiece!

Thanks.

In terms of professional printers, there’s chefjet, and a chocolate surface printer. On the Reprap/hobbyist side, look for paste extruders, of which there are several varieties, some gear driven, others that use compressed air. Some 3d printers use a mobile platform, these might be alright for icing cakes, or filling cake pans with designed patterns. Others have all motion in the overhead part, gantry and delta style printers, which might be suitable for printing directly onto hot plates or hot oil, for cnc pancakes or donuts, or in something akin to an assembly line.

3D systems has just announced some professional sugar printers that are food-safe. No coloring. About 10’000eur or such.

The old DIY devices got down to 10dpi with hot air but I haven’t seen their development continued since a year or so.
