I was pursuaded to update the tinyG firmware in here so I did with AVRDude because the tinyG updater just doesn’t work. Now Chilipeppr refuses to allow me to download the .conf file to the tinyG. Bad idea to update what a nightmare.

What does “Just doesn’t work” mean? I use the TinyG updater all of the time without fail? Can you be more specific on your issues? What platform? What errors? To be clear you are talking about this right?

Also, using TinyG 380.08 should not need you to be “persuaded” it should be done. While its still “Master” its about a 2 year old build and MANY bugs have been fixed. We have not been shipping TinyG’s with 380.08 for many months now.

Everytime I use it it says verifying failed along with a red color bar. I’ve tried resetting it and ensuring the JSON server was on. Everything to no avail.

I think there is some confusion here. When you say JSON server I assume you SPJS? The TinyG updater (aka the link i sent) does not need SPJS. In fact it will fail if you try to us it with spjs connected to your tinyg. Its a stand alone app that will update your TinyG. This feels like a bit of a thread jack by discussing this here. FYI to all! @Bill_Dussault is up and going to. Turns out that people are running spjs then trying to use the TinyG updater at the same time. Which does not work. I will try to address this soon.
