I started working at a local manufacturing company a year ago. It was only for the summer though. I’ve had this printer since the beginning. It prints a full cubic foot and has a mic 6 heated bed. All of this is ran by an Azteeg X5 mini V1.1. I no longer work at that company but its time to take this machine home. Its been rebuilt countless times and even been on fire but it still keeps printing. Even though I’ve built much better, faster, and definitely quieter machines since this one, I’m going to miss this thing.
This looks a lot like the Printrbot Play. I like sheet metal designs. Gotta love the embedded screen.
I always thought it was funny how I was busy building this thing and noticed that printrbot released a printer that looked just like it. I just had to laugh because of how similar they looked. At the time I didn’t even know their version existed.
I also have a sheet metal design that is akin of a CNC frame and has a cutout for an LCD thing. Static bed, frame moves in the Y axis. Only so many ways to skin a cat
