I seem to recall a variant of APA-102 that circumvented the problem of downstream LEDs failing if one LED on the strip died (the old Christmas tree light problem). Does anyone have experience with anything like this or remember the product name?

It’s not the APA-102 - it’s the WS2813, which is basically a WS2812 with a pass through data line (so the leds have 6 pins on them instead of 4). It’s possible there’s an SK** clone of that by now, but I haven’t seen one yet.

@Daniel_Garcia Oh, bummer. Well, looks like they use the same protocol as WS2812, so at least I could use one of the non-interrupt-blocking methods. Thanks for the info!
