I read a lot of 3D Printing and scanning stories, get sent a LOT of press releases but I think you guys will be interested in this one. Basically they’re scanning priceless objects, creating a mould with a 3D printer and then creating beautiful replicas to sell in museum shops, thus potentially changing a museum’s business model entirely. I went to meet the guys behind it and they’re brilliant.
