I’m going to sound like a terrible cheapskate, but I thought I’d ask anyway to make it into a potential future project. Is there any way, or any use to recycling or recovering any of the components (that may not be damaged) off of a TinyG board after it has been blown? I have 2 and I’d like to save what I can use if I could use it, if I ever learn how to make PCBs.

Better to just fix the tinyg, I would think.

If you have a hot air station then repairing PCBs is usually straightforward. Providing you have not burned them so that the traces are gone.

If so then you still need a hot air station, some flux and tweezers and then you can take the parts off the board. I’d be tempted to keep them on and just remove them when you have a need for a spare.

I would keep the blown board around rather than try pre-stripping it, unless you need the de-solder practice. You will find the 4 driver devices to be tough to remove, as they are heat slug packages and conduct a lot of heat into the board before the solder releases.

Ok. I will give it a try
