i have read that the new slic3r have new system for support structure but couldn’t found any difference, any hint?

All the buttons are the same, the calculation, etc and internal workings of the support system are different. @Whosa_whatsis has actually had worse luck with the new system.

Seemed the break away was easier but appeared to use more material [1 use]. The variable hieght layer though is super ! Saved a large print when the extruder jammed, fixed the extruder then printed to top half of an 8 hour print. Glued them together afterwards !

Changing the support threshold angle seems to make a huge difference with the new algorithm (seemed to be completely ignored with the old one. More testing is needed, but now that that’s changed, I can experiment with the other settings to see if I can find something as good as the results I was getting before. The fact that interface layers won’t print in a grid anymore is still a problem.
