I have created the parted needed to print this in openScad would I be allowed to post it to thingiverse? http://www.google.com/patents/US3721448

The patent is from 1973. Normally a patent is valid for max. 20 years.

IANAL, but I’d imagine it’s fine as long as you specify that the license is what it is (public domain?) and don’t try to constrain it like saying it’s gpl’ed (and make mention of the patent in the description just because).
