i have been thinking about going up to a duel extruder setup on my Mendel. but i just wanted to know what do most people out there find they use it for. duel color printing or supporting ABS with PLA support material.?

I’ve wrestled with this for a while (seems cool, but is it totally worth the effort?). Then I borrowed a Makerbot Replicator from work (long story) which happens to have two extruders. I didn’t try dual extrusion until yesterday (when doing an experiment with my kids).

Then later when going to do another print (a plate of parts), I was already like “damn why didn’t I do this with two extruders do those could be black…”…

Our entire hobby is tough to justify, but we do it anyway. Go ahead and dive in. :slight_smile:

i like this hobby allot, my wife thinks i spend too much on it.

i will go the duel extruder route when i get the money, i am looking forward to trying out prints with pva support.
