I have a problem with this 8x8x8 i have been trying to figure out. Using RAMPS 1.4. I can connect fine and move all axes but when i click on heat extruder the GUI will lock up. Nothing works in the GUI except i can switch between, toggle, temp, communication and Gcode in S3D. The bot is heating and goes to the correct temp but it does not show in the GUI. This happens with Repeiter as well. I can connect to my Solidoodle and print, buy why would the GUI just lockup, A USB communication problem maybe?

I’m 0 for 4 in solving people’s problems on here, but my first guess is that it could be a weak power supply, where USB comms go down when the current gets drawn.

That could be. I am using an OLD atx power supply.

@Jim_Peterson That was in fact the problem. I doubled up on another ATX power supply and life is fine now. Thanks.
