I have a couple pieces of 1/4" and 1/2" HDPE plastic sheets I was going to use for some brackets on my ORD Bot I’m building. I was wondering what is the best way to cut the plastic to have clean edges. I don’t have a CNC machine but I do have a table saw, miter saw, and jig saw. I have access to a router if there is a bit that works well. Thanks in advance.

I usually cut plastics with dental Floss. Yes I’m serious. Take about 8ft Floss. tie a weight to one end. Stand on a chair or something and spin the weight. once it has tightened the Floss hold it taut and fold it in the middle around a pencil. Have someone hold the loose ends and spin the pencil the opposite way from the first time and it will wind on itself. You can also use a friend and a drill for the spinning. tie the lose ends together to prevent unraveling. Wrap all but about a foot on the pencil and tie the free end to a pencil for a handle. Saw your line with the floss saw. When a section wears through unravel more and saw some more. You would be surprised how well this works. And you can cut intricate curves as well

@D_Rob Thanks for the information. I’ve never tried that but could see it working just fine.

@Billy_Vaughn no problem Billy I’m glib to be cutting 1/4 plexiglass in a few days to
