Has anyone tried the “Ruler and Protractor” -

tnx all :stuck_out_tongue:
I found it on the toolbar to the left under the grease pencil.
If only I could get it to use metric or imperial. The angle thingy is cool to.

Now that I think of it. Wasn’t there a conversion formula to convert Blender units to mm’s?

iirc, you go in the ‘properties’ panel, in the ‘scene’ tab and in the ‘Units’ section, pick ‘metric’ and 0.001 scale factor.

Tnx @Olivier_Jolly found it AND it looks like it might actually be “real world” measurements. I was measuring
@Kristopher_Kortright 's “Imperial Ruler” http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:51649
and they synced up nicely.

It took me perhaps a dozen iterations of printing the ruler, matching it up to a real ruler, adjusting the sizes in Blender of the ruler - rinse and repeat. I don’t know how I would model now without them, now that I’m creating models for real-world objects (as opposed to modelling for video game objects, where I learned modelling). Thanks for the comment! :slight_smile:
