I bought a cheap 120mm system fan as extra cooling for my Huxley with Melzi board. But I’m having problem with voltage. The fan is 12V as all other fans but FAN output on Melzi is 19V when turned on from Pronterface. I see that hot end fan I got with the kit is connected directly to 19V without a problem. Does that mean I can attach this extra fan to FAN output without any modifications?

Hi,

I use 8 cm fan, I put the cord into the slot fan, not with the hot end fan slot, the buttons on already available, while the off button can be added by copying the code next to the command of the on and replace the M106 S255 to M106 S0.

Thank you, Heri. I measured voltage output for different S parameter. It is not linear but with M106 s1 I get 12.5V. I think that should do, but if someone can confirm that I won’t burn anything …

You’re welcome

Solved … it seems

Congratulations, how? Can I know.

I found answer on e-maker forums. Just plugged it in at 19V.

Is one slot with hot end? Is there a need to do besides that?

No, in the FAN slot. Melzi 2.0 board has it.

I’ve done it with an added LED lights, and was glad to answer you, thank you.
