I am working on my mid sized kossel build and I was wondering what people’s thoughts where on using printed abs bed mounts for my glass bed with a silicon heater. I am plan on running up to normal abs bed temps and I am worried that since I would be heating the bed to around the glass temperature of the abs that I will have problems with sagging of the bed. I am considering making the mounts out of polycarbonate but to do that I need to finish my little cnc router, to many projects…

Am I worried for no reason or should I go for making the parts out of PC.

PC would be a better solution just due to the raising and lowering of temps for the abs during bed heating could warp them. I would go with something like polycarbonate like you said or maybe even just try some metal mounts if you can find any usable on aliexpress or elsewhere. Are you going for a round plate or a hexagonal one?

I am using round borosilicate glass with a silicone heater attached with 3m 468p adhesive tape. I suppose there is no reason why I couldn’t make the mounts out of aluminum. I would need to provide some sort of insulation so I don’t conduct out the heat to the frame.
