I am wondering if there are any owners of the Afinibot A3 printer who are not happy with their machine other than acrylic that seems to be in so many other brands. The machine comes nicely packaged with no missing parts and comes with instructions and software on SD card with preset firmware that seems to run well. As far as Chinese support who needs them we have RepRap and you guys. I recommend this printer on an entry level for anyone who wants to get started in 3D printing …a great learning machine for under $500. Buyer Beware 3D printing is highly addictive!
They basically come under the Migbot umbrella. Acrylic framed, cheap Prusa i3s. At this point, I’d say steer clear, They’re a bitch to level out, even with auto levelling. Even with an aluminium carriage, I’m still getting issues with the auto level overcompensating in one corner. A lot of tweaking needs to be done to get them to actually print correctly. If yours works out of the box or with minimal fiddling, then great. The quality varies on them quite considerably. So there’s good ones and bad ones. Don’t get me wrong, I like my 4 Migbots, but that’s only after many hours tinkering.
TLDR; The Migbots are great if you want to tinker and learn, if not save your money and get a metal framed i3.
Acrylic frames stree crack easily. Why not go metal for $350 with a Maker Select?
It was ok to learn what needs to be done to build a better printer hotter hot end, linear slides using cad, etc. for now its my teacher
