Another program to consider is Wick Editor:

which has the advantage of offering a push/pull deformation methodology, rather than working with nodes if one wants a quick/easy and interactive drawing mechanism.

These are both pretty cool, and if I need to do something quick on a machine without a SVG editor (like a mobile device), I might use them. But I currently use (and am a big fan of) Inkscape.
