Hi
Was thinking of replacing the M8 Threaded rods ( Z axis ) with Lead screws. Anyone know of the STL conversion files so that I can change & fit Lead screws.
I have Mendel90 with Nema 17 Motors

I am not sure at the moment but I am sure the Lead screw nut will not fit X Motor & x Idler. The m8 nut is used normally with the threaded rod. Not sure how I would replace threaded rod with lead screw. I think you get 8mm Lead screw.

Make sure you get the nuts with the rod. They are not the same as threaded rod. You can use the Prusa calculator (google for it). Then calibrate the axis. The Calc will get you into the ballpark.

HI
Here is the link , from Thingiverse , about finding SLT files for X-axrs and mounting leadscrews 8mm.
I have used and modifyed ( with Sketchup ) for my Prusa I3 , and works fine now.
Log on to Thingiverse and type in this text , without the quots.

“Prusa i3 Rework Leadscrew Z-axis w/Delrin Nut”

Succes with it
